Beautiful Day on the Greens!

This past Monday October 14th, was our 18th Annual Golf Tournament held at The Golf Club of Georgia(@TheGCOG). We had a wonderful tournout, with 135 players, along with about 21 volunteers. Players arrived around 8am and enjoyed some practice time on the driving range and putting greens. There was a shotgun start at 9:30am as players zoomed out to one of the two beautifully groomed courses, Lakeside and Creekside. The weather was perfect and the courses could not have been more lovely! There were many contests throughout the courses such as: Longest Drive, Closest to the Pin, Hit the Green, Hit the Canoe, Tag the Tent, Pitch Your Putter, and Ring the Umbrella.

As the players wrapped-up, they trickled in for a delicious meal of barbeque, macaroni and cheese, baked beans, and homeade cookies. During lunch, many great prizes were awarded to high scores and our many raffle give-aways. Among the many awesome prizes given away that day, some of the highlights were: high-end golf gear, a Suunto watch, Samsung Galaxy, and even an iPad!

The day concluded with a putting contest and the winner took home $1,000 cash! We just wanted to thank all the people who helped make the day happen. A huge thanks goes out to The Golf Club of Georgia, Chick-fil-a, Shelter Lending Services, Concur, Fusion Event Staffing, Arista, Prosys, Barnes Merritt & Barnes, American Express, State Bank and Trust, Ronald Blue & Co, Herschend Family Entertainment, Snellings Walters, Reliable Roofing, Find Local Company, The Roger Scott Foundation, Helping Hands Ministries, Coca-Cola, Allgood Pest Solutions, Wm. Leonard & Co, Netcom Paysystem, Power Realty Partners, Cresa Partners, Classic Collision, and of course all of the volunteers!

Summer Staff 2013 Have Arrived!

They're here! They're here! That's right, we have just welcomed 75 of the coolest, smartest, most awesomest(yes, I said awesomest), Jesus-filled summer staff that exists on the planet. And they are ready to serve your kids! We have been going through 2-weeks of intense training, fun, TAG time, and everything in-between.

Week 1 is almost here and we are very excited! It is our hope and prayer that your camper leaves camp having had the thrill of their lifetime while having been exposed to teachable moments that help guide them into a growing relationship with Jesus Christ.

Mother's Day 5/12/13

There are a lot of wonderful things to celebrate in this life, but I can't think of many that compare to celebrating the beautiful woman who we simply know as our MOM!

As I am sitting her writing this blog post, I'm reflecting on my own mother. I can't help but feel an overwhelming sense of love for the woman who means the most in my life. Thinking of all of the sacrifices she has made over the years to make me and my family happy I am realizing how incredible she is.

I can remember all of the practices she took me to, and how she always made sure my clothes weren't inside out, or my shoes on the wrong foot. She made sure I ate my vegetables and went to church with her on Sundays. She taught me right from wrong. She let me figure things out on my own, but stayed just close enough for when I needed her to show me the way. She was proud of me even when I didn't win. She showed me what was most important in life and how to always do the right thing. She truely is a remarkable woman

This month, take some time to reflect on your mother. Let her know how much she means to you. Let her know how thankful you are for all that she does. Celebrate your mom.

We didn't want to just honor mom on this one day, so we are dedicating the whole month of May to Mom. Here's to you!
